Well, we decided to do something different, create a new type of campervan experience to suit both couples and two friends going away together… so together with the clever campervan creator, Will at Mill Garage, “Skye” was designed and carefully crafted to offer the flexibility of two single beds or the HUGEST double bed possible, a great size kitchen with plenty of worktop space and a high top roof so that you can just arrive at your campsite, pop on the kettle and relax with a mug of tea with minutes on the twin sofas! She is a very modern VW T6 with a bit of extra length, so you can stretch out in comfort. Will made sure that our layout looked totally fab, using smart driftwood cabinetry for the kitchen and large overhead lockers, and conjuring the clever sofa and bed arrangement.
We decided that for such a special campervan, she deserved that extra something, so Mark took her down to see Adrian at Tappers Upholstery in Birmingham for some carefully chosen upholstery work to create the lovely sofas and bed area. We had met the lovely people from Tappers at the Motorhome and Caravan Show at NEC Birmingham last October, when Skye was just a twinkle in Counting Sheep Campers’ eye, and worked with them to choose a fantastic check fabric for the new design – Orkney Biscuit – very appropriate for our new adventurer! We think the end result is wonderful, homely and comfy, just the thing when relaxing after hill walking and exploring.
