Just booked our family ticket for The Enchanted Forest in October!
Wow are we excited or what?!
In case you don’t know, this is an annual event running in October and November at Faskally Woods in Pitlochry, Perthshire. A spectacular light show that takes place each night in the magnificent forest, it is the current winner of the UK’s Best Cultural Event and holds the Scottish Outdoor Leisure Awards for Best Outdoor Festival and Scotland’s Best Large Event. This year’s event is called “Of the wild – nature by night” and promises to be completely amazing. Local charities benefit from ticket sales and the town will be buzzing.
We thought we’d take one of our campervans and stay for a few days in the beautiful Perthshire countryside, enjoying the autumn colours, perhaps visiting Blair Castle as well. Pitlochry has some fantastic campsites to choose from, including Faskally Caravan Park which has its own spa and swimming pool. And for some wonderful baking, visit Hettie’s Tea Room in Pitlochry – try the new haggis scones and 22 different flavours of artisan ice cream!
